This week has brought in the cold weather and brand new music from a variety of artist. Steve Aoki and Moneybagg Yo led the race this week with hot music.

Seemingly out of nowhere Steve dropped “Neon Future III“.  He envisioned the Neon Future concept back in 2013. He envisioned a meeting point for his fascinations with music, technology, sci-fi, and graphic novels. Bill Nye even has a guest appearance on this third installment, pontificating about life on mars. This album is an exploration of dance music’s possibilities. This album is truly a head of its time with “Waste It On Me” ft. BTS being the focal part of all the album concepts. I give this album a 7/10.

On his third album of 2018, Memphis rapper Moneybagg Yo amplifies the things that put him as the mix-tape king of Memphis. Progress is shown on every level: topics, beats, mentality, and even ad-libs. His ability to express thug love shows on “In Her Voice” and “Tryna Do”. He presents life lessons on “7even” A track that is imprinted by 2pac lyrically and spiritually is truly the best song on the project. Yet despite the inward thinking, he is quick to flashback to his evil side as shown by “They Madd”, and calling out fakers on “Industry”. But the biggest surprise is a decreasingly rare J.Cole feature on the track “Say Na”. Yo has been excelling in the mixtape lane but this album shows he is ready for the big time. I rate this album a 8/10.
